imtoken is a wallet brand service focused on multi-chain asset management, Web3 usage and blockchain education, including beginner guides, network knowledge, security notes, Layer2, EVM and staking risk information.

How do I create a wallet?

Use a trusted device and secure network environment. After creation, back up the recovery phrase offline and verify the copy. Do not screenshot, upload it to cloud storage or send it to anyone.

How should I back up a recovery phrase?

Write it down on an offline medium and store it securely. You may use multiple secure backup locations based on your risk tolerance. Never enter the phrase into an unknown webpage or give it to supposed support staff.

Can a lost recovery phrase be restored?

If no valid backup exists, a wallet brand generally cannot recover a user’s recovery phrase or private key. Create a reliable backup when setting up the wallet and periodically confirm it remains readable.

How do I add ETH, TRX or BTC networks?

Network configuration differs by chain. Verify network names, chain IDs or other parameters from trusted sources and make sure the asset belongs to the intended network. BTC, TRX and EVM networks use different address and fee mechanisms.

How do I choose the correct transfer network?

The sending network, receiving network and asset type must match. Do not assume networks are the same just because address formats look similar. Consider a small test when using a new network or address.

How do I view transaction history and hashes?

Wallets can display transaction history, while on-chain status can be checked in the relevant block explorer. Use the explorer for the correct network to review confirmations, block height and execution result.

What if a transfer takes a long time?

Check whether a transaction hash exists, then verify the network, destination address and confirmations. Congestion, low fees, failed execution or recipient-platform processing rules can cause delays. Do not send additional funds to unknown addresses for “verification.”

How do I identify phishing sites?

Check the domain, download entry point, certificate and message source. Be highly suspicious of pages claiming account issues, wallet upgrades, asset recovery or wallet verification while asking for recovery phrases, private keys or codes.

How do I review and revoke DApp permissions?

Use wallet features or relevant network tools to review token approvals. Verify the contract and network before revoking or reducing allowances; the action may require gas. Review unused permissions regularly.

What is an EVM-compatible network?

An EVM-compatible network uses a smart-contract environment similar to Ethereum’s virtual machine. Address formats and tools may look similar, but chain IDs, gas assets, contracts and asset records remain independent.

What should I check for Layer2 transfers?

Verify the destination Layer2, asset type, bridge direction and bridge source. Arrival time can be affected by batching, challenge periods, congestion or third-party processing and cannot be guaranteed.

Are staking returns guaranteed?

No. Rewards vary with network rules, participation and validator performance. Also consider lock-up periods, exit queues, penalties, smart-contract risk, liquidity and market volatility.

Will wallet staff ask for my private key?

No. Treat any request for recovery phrases, private keys or verification codes as suspicious. Official staff will not ask users to transfer funds to unknown addresses for account verification or asset recovery.

How do I confirm an official entry point?

Use a verified official website for downloads, notices and help content. Avoid downloads from unknown direct messages, short links or ads. Check domain spelling to avoid impersonation.

What about public networks or shared devices?

Avoid creating or restoring a wallet on public computers and never enter recovery phrases or private keys there. On public Wi-Fi, pay extra attention to phishing pages, browser extensions and device security, and disconnect after use.
