Staking & PoS

Education on PoS, delegation, lock-up periods, rewards, redemption, validators and market risk.

PoS Basics

PoS networks maintain consensus through stake-based validation or delegation. Each network has different rules for validator eligibility, delegation, reward distribution and penalties.

Delegation & Lock-up

Some networks allow delegation to validators and may use lock-up, unbonding or redemption waiting periods. Review network rules and understand when assets can become transferable.

Rewards & Penalties

Staking rewards come from network mechanisms and vary with parameters, participation and validator performance. Downtime or rule violations can reduce rewards or trigger penalties. Returns are not fixed or guaranteed.

Price, Contract & Provider Risk

Even when network rewards are earned, market prices can rise or fall. Smart-contract and third-party staking services also add contract vulnerabilities, service interruption and operational risk.

Security reminder: Never disclose recovery phrases, private keys or verification codes. Verify network, address and amount before transfers, and understand risks before using third-party DApps, contracts, bridges or staking services.
